FGA President and CEO Tarren Bragdon

Tarren Bragdon, President and CEO of the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA), is at the U.S. House of Representatives today, July 8, to testify before the Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Subcommittee on Health, where he will discuss innovative, patient-centered Medicaid reforms states have achieved when given proper flexibility from the federal government.

Bragdon, a nationally renowned health policy specialist with a focus on Medicaid reform, will present successful reform strategies occurring in Florida, Kansas and Louisiana.  These market-based reforms give Medicaid patients a choice of several competing health plans, rather than the one or two plans available to patients trapped in Old Medicaid.  Bragdon will also educate committee members on how Old Medicaid is failing patients and taxpayers, and offer recommendations Congress can pursue to provide states additional flexibility to achieve reforms that improve patient health and save taxpayer dollars.
