ALEC Supports Florida’s Statewide Medicaid Reform

ALEC

The American Legislative Exchange Council joins the Foundation for Government Accountability and others supporting Florida’s Statewide Medicaid Reform and today sent a letter of support to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  ALEC urges the Obama administration to approve the Statewide Reform waivers, which build upon Florida’s Medicaid Reform Pilot, now operating for five years in five counties and serving almost 300,000 patients.

The letter, signed by ALEC Health and Human Services Task Force Chair, Senator Leah Vukmir (Wisconsin, District 5) and ALEC National Chairman, Representative Noble Ellington (Louisiana, District 20), specificly highlights how Florida’ Reform Pilot patients have more choices, better benefits, and higher satisfaction compared to traditional Medicaid patients.
